Paul is reading the new book by Amy Sedaris called Simple Times, Crafts for Poor People . If you're a fan of Amy you know she has a rabbit named Dusty. She put a whole chapter in her new book call Hay Burners for rabbit lovers and these dynamite sticks are one of the crafts she shows you how to make for your rabbits. If you have children, rabbits or gerbils you most likely hoard toilet paper rolls. My father-in-law told Isabelle that they are going to stop making toilet paper rolls soon, a roll-less toilet paper. She was in tears. Let's hope it's not true for Isabelle's sake and the bunnies. So I put these together this morning to try them out on the bunnies.
This is my kind of crafting. Take a toilet roll, fringe the edge with scissors. Amy says "rabbits like the fringe".
Fill the roll with fresh hay. I used orchard grass because it's soft and more bendable.
Tux likes them. He did pick up the fringe right away and then started chewing on the hay.
